What PlayfulSim stores—and what it doesn’t.
Effective August 16, 2026
PlayfulSim is hosted on Netlify and uses a Cloudflare Worker and Cloudflare D1 database for anonymous Would You Rather voting. The games work without accounts; we do not ask for your name, email address, payment details or a profile in order to play.
Browser storage
We use first-party local storage to remember unfinished game sessions, preferences, recent matchups and a randomly generated anonymous voting identifier. Clearing site data in your browser removes this information and may reset unfinished games.
Anonymous community voting
For Would You Rather, the application processes a matchup ID, chosen option, time and random browser identifier. The Cloudflare Worker converts the identifier into a keyed pseudonymous hash before storing the vote in D1. The vote table stores the matchup, choice, timestamp and hash—not the raw browser identifier or a named profile. The hash supports duplicate-vote protection.
Security and delivery data
Netlify and Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request details and security logs to deliver the site, diagnose faults and limit abuse. The voting service may use short-lived IP-related rate-limit information, but PlayfulSim does not intentionally store raw IP addresses in its voting table.
Analytics and advertising
No third-party advertising service, Google AdSense or Google Analytics integration is currently enabled by PlayfulSim. The code includes an internal event boundary for game events, but it does not send those events to an advertising network. If analytics or advertising is added, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before activation.
Sharing and third parties
Shared links contain only the matchup identifier or encoded game result needed to display the page; result pages are excluded from search indexing. If you use your device’s sharing tools, the destination service handles information under its own policy.
Retention and your choices
Anonymous vote records may be retained to preserve genuine totals and duplicate protection. Local sessions remain until a game clears them or you clear browser storage. You may stop using the site or clear local data at any time.
Children
PlayfulSim is aimed at young adults and adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy when the site or its services change. The effective date above will be revised for material updates.
